Medical Diagnosis Counselling
I just got diagnosed, what do I do now?

Physical and mental health are often closely linked and receiving a medical diagnosis whether it be life-limiting or a life-changing diagnosis, it can be very overwhelming, confronting and emotionally distressing for the individual and their loved ones.

Doctors and medical providers are trained to identify and treat the disease. Counsellors are trained to treat people and one's experience of disease.

When someone develops a medical issue, they often have severe emotional distress. Medical conditions can also interfere with one’s typical coping strategies.

Counselling can be an integral part of your treatment, providing necessary support and guidance during this difficult time by working through the flood of emotions, thoughts and feelings you have/are experiencing in counselling.
