Meet Kelvin
Registered Counsellor and Hypnotherapist
Understand your patterns. Reconnect with your purpose.
Kelvin is a warm, grounded and approachable counsellor who brings together professional therapeutic training and extensive real-world experience.
Before becoming a Registered Counsellor, Kelvin spent approximately 15 years working in the mining and construction industries. This background gave him a firsthand understanding of demanding workplaces, long hours, high-pressure environments and the expectation that people—particularly men—should simply keep going, regardless of what they may be carrying internally.
Over time, Kelvin felt drawn towards work that focused on supporting people through life’s emotional and psychological challenges. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Psychology, a Master of Counselling and advanced training in hypnotherapy.
Today, Kelvin provides both face-to-face and online counselling for adults experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, workplace pressures, life transitions and concerns relating to men’s mental health.
A Practical and Person-Centred Approach
Kelvin understands that beginning counselling can feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable, especially for people who are used to managing problems independently.
His approach is person-centred, practical and collaborative. Rather than telling clients what they should do, Kelvin provides a respectful and non-judgemental space where they can speak openly, better understand what they are experiencing and explore meaningful ways forward.
Kelvin recognises that emotional wellbeing is influenced by many interconnected areas of life, including:
-
Past experiences
-
Relationships and family dynamics
-
Work and financial pressures
-
Personal beliefs and expectations
-
Lifestyle and daily habits
-
Identity, meaning and purpose
-
Physical and emotional stress
Counselling with Kelvin is shaped around each client’s individual experiences, needs and goals. Sessions may involve exploring recurring patterns, learning practical emotional regulation skills, developing greater self-awareness and identifying changes that support long-term wellbeing.

Areas of Specialty
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy may be incorporated when appropriate and with the client’s consent. It uses focused attention and deep relaxation to support exploration and change.
Hypnotherapy may assist some clients with reducing stress, shifting unhelpful patterns, strengthening internal resources and developing more helpful emotional responses.
Kelvin explains the process clearly and works collaboratively so that clients remain comfortable and in control throughout the experience.
Jungian Perspectives
Jungian-informed counselling explores the deeper patterns, beliefs and experiences that may influence how a person understands themselves and relates to the world.
This may include exploring identity, personal meaning, recurring emotional themes, unconscious patterns and the different parts of the self. The aim is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help clients develop a deeper understanding of who they are and what may be calling for attention or change.
